Sample Craft Beer

Sample craft beer from local breweries, hear live music, and explore the historic area after hours.

Beer was a favorite drink of George Washington, as it was for many people living in eighteenth-century America. 

Try Mount Vernon's New Beers

Our Mount Vernon beers, produced in collaboration with Dynasty Brewing Co., pay homage to George Washington’s love of porter. A porter brewed with Virginia-grown malt and a traditional English ale are among the beers available to sample.

Event Schedule

Doors open at 6 p.m. each night.

12-Acre Field

  • Beer Tasting – craft beers and hard seltzers available for tasting and purchase
  • Foods made using traditional ingredients and methods from the Half Crown Bakehouse
  • Concessions from the Mount Vernon Inn Food Truck
  • 18th-century herbs and spices available for purchase from Herb & Vine, an 18th-century herbalist

Bowling Green

  • Live music (6 p.m. to  8:30 p.m.)

Mansion and Outbuildings

  • Mansion will remain closed during this event
  • Outbuildings will be open (Blacksmith Shop closed)

Seating

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or small lawn chair to sit on the 12-Acre Field or Bowling Green. Seating is not provided.

Tents, tables, pop-ups, grills, beach or free-standing umbrellas, coolers, and glass containers are not permitted.

Face Coverings

Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face covering. 

Those who are not vaccinated are required to wear face coverings indoors and when social distancing is not possible outdoors.

This policy applies to both staff and guests.

Mount Vernon can be accessed from the Washington, D.C. metro by car or by public transportation.
